Spools of yarn in Amana, Iowa's old Woolen Mill. The construction of the mill was completed in 1859 and is still in operation today. Visitors to the old mill can watch the looms as they weave beautiful blankets from wool, cotton and acrylic. The yarn seen here is being pulled from the spools by a "Warping Reel" which is used to prepare the warp (the threads which lie along the length of the cloth).
