Officers Ward Room
As with most spaces aboard this navy ship this room serves multiple uses. Notice the lighting above the table, which is used for surgery if necessary. The yellow lights are called battle lanterns and automatically illuminate if the ship looses power. You can see them throughout the ship.
Also speaking of medical emergencies, there was no doctors stationed aboard destroyers, but only a chief petty officer coreman (enlisted rank). I always tried to stay healthy while at sea.
