It is that time of the year when the hummingbirds get nasty and chase each other away from the feeders. This one was sitting on my Japanese anemone, just waiting for another male to fly in to the feeder, which is the blurred red object on the left of the picture, so he could scare him off! It happened time and again, then if one of them was at the feeder, he was not giving his feed his full attention as he kept looking round to make sure another hummer was not approaching. And YES it was only the males that were being aggressive!! I hate to see it happen, but it is nature I suppose....
