La mujer muerta (The Dead Woman)
This is a picture of “La mujer muerta.” I also took this phot near my host family’s home. The
mountain’s real name is La Guadaljara. It is called “La mujer muerta”because it looks like a
dead woman lying there. I could not fit all of her in the frame so her feet are missing. Her head
is to the left of the photo and her feet are two the right. According to the story my host family
there were two brothers who loved her. In some versions of the story she is pregnant. At the end
of the story she is dead. I will check my class notes for the rest of the story. Students in many
different villages were told this story by their host families.
