A male "velvet ant" (actually a member of the hairy wasp family) and is commonly called a Cow Killer due to the very pain sting the insect can deliver to a human. The male has wings and flies while the female (see earlier photos) does not have wings and hence how the furie bug gets the ant relationship in the name.
