Tuesday the 25th of July 2006 cb

The Evening Standard van visits W.H.Smith. At this time of day possibly collecting unsold papers.
Bright sun, 32C, 6 mph W wind (could do with a bit stronger), 1017 mb falling slowly, 45% rh steady.
Lack of a nice breeze makes it feel a lot hotter.
A good day.

Recently we had a few days of temps in the 90s. We barely survived.
By the way, I see that trucks in England sometimes swallow people, as trucks in the States are known to do.

I got it!! It is 89 degrees. A scorcher!

I looked that up. Very helpful indeed. And the lady's foot didn't miss your eyes. Nothing ever does.

Our Man from Michigan would be helped immeasurably (is that a pun?) by this:http://vathena.arc.nasa.gov/curric/weather/fahrcels.html#conversion .
Note how the woman's right foot has turned to the right. I think she is preparing to align her walking axis with one of the sections of the parking space marking.

You guys know your history and geography. Nice colors in this shot. Is it possible to post the temperature in something that us Yanks can understand? 32 is freezing mark for us.

Good guess Exzim, the van is parked by their back door in Werter Road.
W.H.Smiths has been there at least 60 years, one of the longest occupancys in the high street.

I'd guess Smith's has to be in Putney High Street but to be honest I don't remember it.
