Hiking out of Massey Gap on the Appalachian Trail, we found more ponies along the way. If you ever have the opportunity, Grayson Highlands and Mt Rogers are worth the visit when in SW Virginia. It's about as close to the "Big Sky" country as you can get on the East Coast.
