It is interesting that the middle pyramid of the three largest pyramids at Giza (there are eleven, the remainder being monuments to the Pharaoh’s wives/Queens) appears to be the largest, but it is not. The Great Pyramid of Khufu (on the far left) is biggest. However, Khufu's son, Khephren had his pyramid constructed with a steeper angle to the sides and he placed it on higher ground than the pyramid of his father. This gives the impression that they are the same size, and, in fact, the smaller of the two appears to be the larger from many viewing angles.
As mentioned in another note, the original height of the great Pyramid of Khufu was about 10 meters (30 feet) higher then it is today.
