Clocks - 07/11/06

Tallahassee / Quincy, Florida

My entire life I have loved clocks. I’ve loved the clocks that are key or weight driven, …
the kind of clocks that make the homey and comfortable sound of “tick tick tick”. My wife Gerie
however, hates the clocks that make the “tick tick tick” sound, preferring instead the sterile and
somewhat boring clocks that are quartz operated.
The most sound that these little devises make is perhaps a soft humming sound, … on occasion,
… if one is lucky. Consequently, my life is a battle of me trying to sneak the “real” clocks
into my home, and my wife trying to replace them with the quartz driven clocks.
This little beauty is an honest-to-God key wound “ticking” clock ... it was here for far
longer than I originaly met Gerie, and THIS "Grandmother Clock" is one of my pride and joys.

It even chimes the half hours and the full count of the top of the hour!

Hey, … what a wonderful WONDERFUL guy thing!
