Three deer

Near Delicate Arch (Arches National Park)

After entering the canyon, something off to my left caught my attention. I turned and saw these
three deer, just about in the center of the photo. Two are standing, looking at me. The third is
to the left of the other two; vegetation obscures all but its head. I snapped some pictures and
calmly resumed my advance up the canyon. They slowly wandered in the other direction.

Thanks, Tim---it must be described somewhere in the 198-page instruction manual. The transition to digital photograpy has been challenging because now I take pictures with "a computer having a lens on the front."

It's the top hat symbol on the dial Dave, although I agree it's not straight forward to use, as you then need to scroll through the menus and set it from the default setting (handkerchiefs) to rabbits. There's also a dove mode.

Larry, I'm pleased to have satisfied your "circumnavigation animals quota" and that my timing was appropriate. Later in the hike I saw one or two rabbits; unfortunately I could not photograph them because I have not figured out how to use my camera's rabbit imaging mode. So many modes; so little time.

This is hilarious, Dave. I was going through your photos and just said to myself "where are all the amimals? Why aren't there any?" and I came on this photo. You saved my sanity and just in the nick of time.
