It's believed this bear is the same bear previously observed high on the side of a mountain hunting Mountain Goats; from a distance it appeared to be a Grizzly.
Lack of success resulted in it wandering across the mountain side grazing upon plants and berries. This photo was taken a couple days later when it emerged from some brush across a small creek. Later it was again observed high up on the moutain but had been joined by another bear, larger and much darker in color; so much so it appeared black.
Closer observation makes me wonder if perhaps the bear's stature isn't somewhat small for a Grizzly ... but I leave that to the experts.
