In this shot you can see the old telltale pole for the Tunnel located just ahead on the old Illinois Central line into Dubuque, Iowa. This Tunnel is curved to line up with a swing span bridge across the Mississippi River. The telltale was used to warn Brakemen and other workers riding on top of the train that a tunnel was fast approching.
