Johan, I didn't build that sand castle... I just took pictures of it....

Linda, the monument you're talking about is called Christ the Redeemer. It is located close to the Sugar Loaf, also in Rio de Janeiro. Christ the Redeemer is built over another mountain (the Corcovado). Here I have some pictures of the Redeemer:http://www.pbase.com/rogeriomaciel/cristoredentor. Fabulous sand castle. Is the Monument in the background the one with Christ standing with arms outstretched? Sorry if I'm confusing that with another country. Linda
