Pondering Panama thru the eyes of a modern sailor*

Panama Canal, Panama

This is my step mother, on her boat, in the middle of the Panama Canal. Her eyes, the containers to the right and the canal itself lead you to the bahemoth behind us.

We were fortunate enough to be invited to cross the canal with my Dad and his wife on a 46' sail boat. Our canal mate is a huge car freighter. We shared the passage through the Gatun Locks with this little guy. To say it was exciting is an understatement.

The lighting on most of this trip was horrible. Clouds, sun, dark steel canals, and no way to use a tripod for dual exposures.
