Near the end of the trip, while driving from Moab to Salt Lake City, I had to follow a detour
around Soldier Summit and Spanish Fork Canyon, where a tanker truck rolled over and exploded,
blocking US 6. The driver, who ignored a speed limit sign, was severely burned and later
died. The detour went northeast on US 191 from Castle Gate to Duchesne and took me over a
pass where I encounted falling snow, seen here. Even though I am used to the idea of
snowfall in April in the mountains near my home, seeing it here surprised me.
