The Dragon & Tiger Pagodas (Lunghu Ta) on Lianchitan Lake (Lotus Lake) at Kaohsiung. The twin, seven-tiered pagodas are connected to the south shore of the lake by a nine-cornered bridge. Entry is down the dragon's throat and exit via the tiger's, symbolizing the transformation of bad luck to good fortune. Inside the pagodas are paintings of 24 scenes from traditional tales epitomising the Chinese cardinal virtues of filial peity, obedience and good deeds.
The appeal of the legend and myth aside, the place is actually rather ordinary.
