Isaac's mother Ayor

This is my Mom, Mary Ayor. She is thinking “This is my last day and he is leaving me again”. Amazingly my Mom survived the tragedy and suffering of two decades of civil war. She lost her husband and all of her children. Then when the peace agreement was signed in 2005 she discovered that she had two surviving children, me and my younger brother, Abraham. We were both living in the United States. I went to visit her for the first time in twenty years in November of 2005. This photo was taken on the last day of my visit,

Of all the pictures, Mom's speaks volumes. There is an assuring smile behind her fingers.

Hi Isaak
I think your photos are amazing. I hope it is ok to use them and your story with my English students. We are in Australia in a place called Lismore. I have Sudanese and Congoleses refugee students from Kakuma in my class as well as students from Asia and Europe. I hope I can get them to post a message to you.
Very best wishes
from Lisa

Isaac, your mother is beautiful! I am so happy when I see this picture because I know that you and Abraham have a wonderful, loving mom! I am so excited to be a part of Abraham's life, and hope to meet you soon!
