When we arrived in Thyangboche it was New Year's Eve. A special puja was held in the late afternoon to drive away evil spirits before Lhosar(Sherpa New Year). Different villages celebrate Lhosar on different days so it is possible to celebrate new year day after day. These two monks were accompanying the ceremony with loud bellows from these horns.
