I was thinking the same thing when I saw this picture. From prior correspondence I know that John does not like straight lines and the relationships they form (trigonometry is a sore subject). Thus the fascination with curves. Optical devices for recognizing multiple moving and changing curves is difficult to acquire, so John must have contacts in the appropriate industries. I would bet that his system incorporates a fractal analyzer. I say all this because John's response, if any, will certainly be vague or misleading to protect the trade secrets of his equipment sources and to ensure that he stays ahead of everyone else with the results he gets.
