The adult Bald Eagle swooped down with the blackbird in chase for a brief moment. In a way it is interesting how a small non-powerful bird can harass such a dominate bird as the Bald Eagle to the point that the eagle gives in and moves to another spot in the swamp rather than do combat against such a small advisary. In many ways, while watching this scene, it reminded me of the problems of a massive cumbersome creature can be when out of it's element (such as the eagle when flying vs on a tree limb)......of course that is the basis for insurgent and counter insurgent warfare as we are experiences during this period of our history. For today's contest of the perch rights to that very specific tree....the Redwing Blackbird is the temporary winner. I believe the fun will really begin when the young eaglet begins to fly in about 20 days and starts using the perch.
