Morning activity at Auckland airport: An Air New Zealand B767 waits for a Thai International A340-600 to land on runway 05L. The main runway (05R/23L) is undergoing maintenance so all movements are being conducted on the back-up runway (which is normally used as a taxiway).

Photographed from QF44 - delayed from the previous evening. We were planned at high speed to make up some time, so consequently we caught the Air New Zealand aircraft (flight NZ103) later over the Tasman.
