Pelham Drive--Eight Months After Katrina

I do not believe one house is inhabitated on Pelham Drive. This area was always considered "high and dry" and "the" place to live". Houses on this street sold for millions. Flood insurance, a flat rate policy" insures to $250,000. Insurance companies said no need to buy flood insurance on this high ground. Their flooding came from the 17th Street Canal as the water made its way out of New Orleans and to this neighborhood adjoining New Orleans.
