the American Manufacturing Bldg was lost for good today in the biggest alarm fire in the last 10years not including 9/11. Apparently the neighborhood were fighting the developers as they tried to declare it a Historic National Landmark. Coincidence or not, the owner of the property had previously been investigated in 2003 for arson on another piece of land in dumbo which went down in similiar fashion.
It is a great loss!
