1906

New Orleans, Louisiana

I am wondering how much better photography is today. My father is third from left on the back row.
This was a picture taken for their school yearbook. The coach is the Holy Cross priest in the middle. I do not think he chewed tobacco and spit on the field.

The technology has changed, but as Henri Cartier-Bresson observed "Photography has not changed since its origin except in its technical aspects, which for me are not important." This is a great photograph to have. You should photograph or scan all of these and have them backed up on a few CDs...

Any photograph that can preserve memories for 100 years is great photography in my book.

Neat old photo. One thing I like about old photos is that no one ever smiled. This is very well preserved.

Really nice. I cannot believe how explosive the contast is in this picture. Your father has a strong determined look in his eyes. It must have been well taken care of, and the photographer was the best in his/hers day. What kind of film is this on Coleen?

Coleen, We have came a long way in photography, but in a few years our digitals are going to look pretty crude...Its always interesting to go back into the family photos. I guess what I see as they always seemed happy. I look back in time what they had and what we have today. Guess we are spoiled and don't even know it. Thanks for sharing...Ron
