When I was in town this morning, the sky looked like this, and I thought we were in for a day of typically miserable weather. When I came out of my meeting a couple of hours later, the clouds had disappeared and the sun was shining. When I got home, my neighbours were working in their garden and the sound of lawnmowers assaulted my ears from all directions. By way of compensation, the smell of freshly cut grass - which surely is one of the nicest smells in existence (they ought to bottle it) - was in the air. I decided to trim my hedge. Later we might even have a barbecue! Spring, at last! Spring, at last! Thank the stars, it's spring at last!
