Lesser Nighthawks are night-flying aerial insectivores, members of the Nighthawk and Nightjar family. They have very short bills, are about 8 inches in length and have a wingspan of 21 inches. The males have a white throat while the female's throat is buff; their diet consists exclusively of insects.
