Lance Mackey of Kasilof gives one of his dogs some love after winning the Kobuk 440 sled dog race April 9, 2006, in Kotzebue. The Kobuk 440 takes place three weeks after the Iditarod and is popular with the mushers for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly people along the course.
