Last night there was a considerable weather front which passed over the Wheeler site with high winds, tornado warnings, hail and heavy rains. Today the wind was out of the North and the Female Adult Eagle and the young chick were fine with the nest and area safe for it to grow into an eaglet. This is the first birth for this pair of Bald Eagles since their first nest was destroyed by weather before they could lay an egg and their second attempt at nesting resulted in the nest with two eggs to also be destroyed. It is good to see life continue after such personal trials.
