10th Place, tie
Around 2000 feet
by Najinsky

I took this on the way to work this morning. Obviously theres a few issues with it and I wont have time to clean it up as I'm away from home, but there was something about it I liked and the path described by the tip of the propellor is pretty much the definition of round (or a circle at least), so I thought I would upload.

This is wonderful, Najinsky! The complimentary colors work really well and the ghost of the sweep of the propeller is perfect for the topic! I especially like the reflection of the islands in the orange cone-shaped thing. Well seen! ~Sharon

Hi, Naj. I was typing my late entry post and then I saw that your image had been added also.
But you had not updated it yet to include your name...it just said, IMG_XXX or whatever, so I Posted anyway because I received a phone call and when I came back, your name was on the image. You already have 28 hits on this image, so people are getting to see it and that is the important thing.

I'm curious, just where is this?

PS I hope you saw my post on lens choices for you under the official thread.

Best Wishes,

Traveller

Thanks for the kind comments. The shot I was after was about 2 minutes earlier at around 1000 feet with most of the island I live on clearly visible. It worked out nicely and I have a good square crop of it but unfortunately the arc of the propellor is missing on the left so there is barely a quarter circle, which doesnt fit the theme as well as this one.

Traveller, your name suits me. I went from this plane to my boat where my internet access is intermittent. It took two attempts to type the details and get it saved, but I'm surprised you saw the title without my name (or do you mean put my name in the title space as some people do?). I'm a big fan of your photos and you saying you like this has brought a big smile to my face.

Regards,
Naj

Love it-love it-love it,
I tend to find the images I like the most are the less cluttered ones, and this is (in my eye) awesome compostition. Thanks
One little niggle is you may have to clean the sensor or the window in the plane (and reshoot haha), but as you pointed out you are away (I know how it feels to be unable to tidy up an image)
Thats enough

Yes, I like it very much also. I would have included your name on the late entires...but your name wasn't up yet. Nice title also. Best Wishes, Traveller

Wow. I really like this. The blue is great with just a bit of the orange to help out. I love the diagonal lines and the overall composition. And the subtle effect of the prop tips drawing a nice round pattern. I even like the bit of reflected pattern on the window from inside. Cool.
