Navarre Beach Restoration Project
Arkansas Street Area (1.5 miles west of the Fishing Pier)
The mist that you see coming out of the pipe on the beach is the depressurizing of the nearly ¼ mile of pipe that is floating out in the Gulf so that it will sink to the bottom. The long sections of pipe brought to this staging area were pressurized so that the pipes floated, which of course made it easier to transport with the help of several tugboats. The object inside the pipe is the pressure valve. Once the Arkansas Street area is ready to start up the pressure valve will be removed to add more sections of pipe for pumping sand.
