I'm not really happy with this image, but it's been hectic lately and this is the best I could come up with... Spring is definitely on it's way; the ice is off our backyard Koi pond and it's time to store the pond heater until the next winter. Koi are merely fancy carp. Many people in this climate remove the Koi from backyard ponds during the winter, but we've found we have fewer losses by leaving them in with a pond heater that prevents the pond from freezing solid and provides an open area for gas exchange. Soon it'll be time to get the waterfall running again--my favorite sign of spring. The waterfall filters the water and mixes in oxygen for the fish to breathe as well as look and sound pretty. :) Spring at last...
I desaturated this image; the only thing left saturated is a small school of Koi.
