No luck there Shirley (well not much) - I soon found luck wasn't going to do it. Trick is to get a bee on a flower, and then move around until you are 90 degrees to him. Then wait until he jumps off (he's going, not coming), and he'll be the same distance from you as the flower (on which focus has been locked). The difficulty is they jump very fast and very suddenly, so I have a load of shots of a flower, some empty space, and a bit of bee limb rapidly exiting stage right. I was losing patience I can tell you :-) Louis

Awww! I do like this one better Louis! Busy Bee coming in for a landing! Frozen in time but, the photo is full of action! Look at those little wings going, and a beautiful little flower too. How lucky they were both in focus!
