Even in Chaos there is meaning and order ;-)) I just had a similar discussion on B&W conversions and greys with Filip on the image "The Treadmill"....K

Hi Dave. When I look at this one, you have virtually all the tones there. True blacks with some shadow detail, whites with highlight detail, and some nice long tones in between. I think this is a pretty good B&W conversion. It would be interesting to compare the colour original histogram of this one, with an other one you are not quite so happy with.
