Biblis hyperia

We found our first red rim during our time at Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge in south Texas. Once we went into Mexico, we saw them more often. This species for some reason proved among the more difficult to approach and photograph, owing partly to the constant mobility of the ones we saw. Melanie moved in fast to take advantage of this resting individual to grab this shot before it took flight again.
