I was waiting for an unrelated shot, which I'll post when I finally get a
version I like. The bus stopped, the crowd cleared, and this scene caught
my eye (composition, you know).
I had to laugh at my immediate assumptions: all I know about this woman
is that she doesn't mind showing off her legs (obviously), and that she's
probably married (the ring); and my first thought was, "That makes sense"!

I really will have to get a stabilised lens in this focal range. I'm
missing too many low-light shots, and having to shoot wide open limits DOF
for those occasions when I want it. This shot couldn't really be displayed
at much higher resolution than this because of camera shake, and I'm
surprised it came out this well given that it's at about 110mm equivalent.
I'm somewhat annoyed with my computer this evening. Not only has a whole
folder of (finished) pictures mysteriously disappeared since this morning
(it's not in the recycle bin, and due to laziness I haven't backed anything
up for over a week now), but my display and monitor seem to have reverted
to the original flaky factory configuration; so everything keeps wobbling
and I don't know whether the colours are coming out right. I'll just have
to hope for the best on today's picture.
