Hookin (by Dan)

Here I am in the sidestein with a foot tenuously hooked
in one of the drilled pockets. I think the next move is the
steinpull, but am not sure. It was tough, I'll tell you, and
I never made the anchors. This summer this route will go down!!
Nate and I are thinking that, with the drilled pockets (not the pipe),
this route goes around M7/M8. However, our lack of mixed experience
makes this just an estimate.

You're right, Nate. I think this pic was taken when I was searching (I think I'm resting on the rope) for the hold. I found something when I fist got the that spot but it wasn't right; I fell, then found the pocket. I can't remember when this one was taken.

Yeah, you are right there, but I don't think you were quite into it at the time the pic was taken. Could just be the angle, but I think if you were into the hole the tool would be turned more.

but do you see the chalk mark, nate? by my right tool??? isn't that the sidestein?

The next move would be the steinpull. I don't think you are quite in the sidestein in this pic. I think this is where you were madly searching for the blind placement.
