Pavilion of the Two Sisters

Construction crews were hurrying to complete the repairs to the pavilion for a wedding scheduled in 24 hours. It will be the first wedding in the Park in six and one-half months. Doors and plants still have to be added. I am confident they will meet the deadline.
The cement bench they are putting into place was designed and built in the 1930's by Enrique Alferez during the WPA era and is extremely heavy. It took ten men using all their muscle to accomplish the job.

Exciting shot- - they will finish in time! Gosh, Buildings at City Park were looted too?

That bench sure does look heavy. I do not think I could even budge it if I wanted to.
So are you going to get picture of the wedding?

I took a trip through the park today and things look like they are coming around. I will be glad when things get back to some form of normal what ever that is!!! Wonderful photo Coleen. By the way, Ken finished the kids wedding album from the park wedding and it is GREAT.

The only reason it and several others like it were saved is because it was too heavy to float away and too heavy to loot.

It is good to know that things are returning to somewhat normal. I'm glad the bench was able to be saved.

GOOD 'activity' shot . . . .it gives a sense of all the things going on there
