It is not that it is close up or the detail but those both help. It is the curves! Look at the hair, the eyebrows, the line of her eyes, the glass, the negative space around her hands! All of those are lessons in French curves, in negative space. I am not an artist, only a scientist, but this picture bowls me over. Voted. Ells
