Several species of mangroves can be found around San Blas. These estuaries make up some of the best habitat for bird life in San Blas. Butterfly diversity in the estuary at the time of our visit was realatively low, but once you get away from the coastal areas, you're sure to find great diversity again up in the forests nearby.
