2nd March Charlies Cabin

It started off a cold but sunny day.
"Sticky Nose" weather!
I took a daunder up the road and it started to snow and the sun dissapeared just over lunch break.
Charlie lives in the cabin all year round (has done since I was a kid).
These caravans were used along side the mobile sawmills in the early part of the 20th century by the sawmillers.
Charlie worked in the wood and in sawmills until he retired a few years ago. He lives right next door to our local mill and 50yds from where I work.

During the Summer time.

What a awesome place to live. Beats the city. Nice image James.

I can't see any signs of electricity there, but with all that timber
he could keep warm with a wood fire? Wonderful shot and story!

Colorful little cabin and very interesting commentary. Hope Charlie is snug in there. Those icicles mean it gets pretty cold at his place.

Beautiful with the icicles hanging from the roof. Looks like a cosy little place.

wow, what a shot.. icicles are great and I love the antlers over the door. The snow makes the colour pop right out. v>

About as cosy a place as you would find in those conditions !! This is wonderful, James. I love Charlie's place.

I'll bet Charlie has lots of stories to tell. I really like the bright colors against the rather stark background. Good eye!!

Magical! I love the color of the cabin, the icicles and the snowy trees. GMV!

Wonderful shot.
Johnny JAG02-Mar-2006 20:11
That's a great shot, I hope the icicles on your nose weren't quite so long.
SRW02-Mar-2006 20:11
I hope it's cosy... -- looks like something out of the Brothers Grimm; although I can't imagine what it must be to live like that.... (Great shot, by the way!)
