Hi Morey, the camera wasn't inside, may be the focus plane (with some blur in the foreground) gives such an illusion. Relative to the expected lifespan of eggs in our kitchen, they can be considered as "old" right after 1-2 days :) MCsaba

what a terrific shot. How did you get your camera inside an egg crate?
However- eggs are, by definition, not old.
