Since I arrived to pbase I have been trying to improved the rather limited design features of the galleries. I wrote a tutorial on how to get a better root page design HERE, and created also some javascript code to automatically enlarge thumbnails while the page was loading.

Last July, without any warning, javascript was banned ruining the work of many users without any fix. Days later, by popular demand, a workaround was offered for the slideshow (and sort your life out to adapt it).

This is a small fix for the former slideshow:
1. Look for these lines in the old code:

2. Replace them with SLIDESHOW(gallery name), where gallery name is the gallery where you place the pictures to be shown in the slideshow.



You can send an email to slug or other pbase administrator thanking them making our life easier, although you may get no response, as I do.

Desde que llegué a pbase, he tratado de mejorar las evidentes limitaciones de diseño que tienen las galerías. Escribí un artículo sobre como mejorar la página principal AQUI y cree código en javascript para incrementar el tamaño de las miniaturas mientras se cargaba la página. En Julio, sin nigún aviso previo se eliminó el uso de javascript tirando a la basura el trabajo de muchos de nosotros sin ofrecer ninguna alternativa. Por petición popular se habilitó una función para que funcionara la presentación de diapositivas (y que cada uno se busque la vida para adaptarlo a su página).

Una forma rápida de que la antigua presentación de fotos vuelva a funcionar (no exactamente igual), es la siguiente:

1. Buscar estas lineas en el código antiguo:

2. Reemplazarlas con SLIDESHOW(nombregaleria), donde nombregaleria es el nombre de la galería que contiene las fotos a utilizar en la presentación.

Podéis mandar un mail a slug u otro administrador de pbase, agradeciéndoles el hacer nuestra vida más fácil, aunque seguramente no obtendréis respuesta, como me ha pasado a mí.
