Much Better, EV is 3.4, and I rather like this also. Though this took a lot of goosing to get it where it needed to be. A three point curves, -11 in the red channel, another application of a single point of curves, sharpening once in USM, plus another 6% contrast, and then another sharppeing in Thumbs Plus for an overall light shaprpening. The sense of time and place is good. Best Wishes, Traveller

Victo, I'll replace this soon, but with something from the same set. Best Wishes, Traveller

EV is on the same scale as f/stops, so if this was -2 stops exposure compensation, subtract 2 from the EV I posted, making it 4.5. -- Victor

Exposure bias: -2.0000 I wouldn't mind deleting these, if necessary, but I'm not sure how the minus 2 computes. Best Wishes, Traveller

EV is 6.5 (unless there was an exposure compensation)

I agree with Olaf. I was going to make that comment earlier, but I guess I got distracted. -- Victor

Ok, after what you wrote, I had to re-evaluate. Result: I find the flourescent lamp on the left very distracting. When I cover it up with my hand, the image improves immensely.

Really? I feel just the opposite. Maybe because there is a touch of Color here. And a place brightly lit, yet with a dark soul, still has a darkness regardless of whatever lights there may be. I suppose that this also has an emotional connection because I hired a bodyguard for this evenings explorations, or he found me to be hired as the case may be and it was here that he abandoned me, refusing to go any farther.

So I was on my own which was cool, yet I was extremely nervous, this was my first trip with the D60, and this may account for my astonished surprise when Victor noted that I was under exposing by two stops! And it took me 2 and a half years to discover this. I must have been much more nervous than I thought...dogs would snarl at me from time to time as I wandered shooting whatever seemed interesting to me...but what I didn't want was to wake anyone up.

Maybe JimH is right, we can't evaluate our own work, because this is by far my favorite. Best Wishes, Traveller

Between this and 'This Way Home, (Darkly)', I much prefer the other one.
