I am a devoted Minolta user from way back, at least as way back as you can be when you are on the low side
of 40. This is one of my 3 X-700 bodies. It is my first, the one I got in college and it is the camera I learned with.
And like a friend who has moved a good distance away, I don't see it often enough anymore.
I am so devoted to Minolta that I was late to the DSLR party waiting for them. In truth, I was getting close to
being unfaithful, going with a Canon or Nikon, when Minolta (by this time Konica Minolta) saved me and came out with the 7D.
Last month Minolta announced they would be getting out of the photography business
and spinning off their DSLR stuff to Sony. Tomorrow Sony will give a press conference at the PMA show
in Orlando FL and the diehard Minolta fans of world will be listening with bated breath to see what
their plans are for our beloved cameras and lenses. We are all hoping desperately that Sony does not
misplace the "Mind of Minolta." If they do, I may be more than unfaithful, I may want a divorce.
And yes, I usually shoot with only one eye although it is usually the other eye, even though I am right eye dominant.
February is Black and White month for many of us PADers. Check out Gary Winters PAD page or Bob Townsend's Topic for a list of those participating.
