Here is a view of the White Rim Road which traverses a layer of rock below the upper rim but above the levels of the Colorado and Green rivers. Over 100 miles in length, it is possible to enter it from Moab, drive around the entire Island in the Sky area and exit to the north. There are primative campgrounds all along the route. That's a project for our next visit. This time we entered the road from a steep series of switchbacks near the park entry and ranger station.
