Guarding the Mississippi River Levee

Kenner, Louisiana

The Mississippi River in New Orleans and in Metairie did not break during Hurricane Katrina. The broken levees are Canal levees--the 17th Street Canal, the London Avenue Canal and the Industrial Canal.
We're guarding this levee from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Was this taken at Chalmette ?? Someone at NPS Lafayette told me that it was closed.

Agree 100% with your comment about the Corps, but FEMA needs to be included also !!!

Good idea ;) Nice one Coleen. Did you convert this to B&W? Should be strong!

If only cannons could protect us from this inept government! Looks like a nice bright morning (or afternoon).

Great shot Coleen, I think someone needs to guard us from the core of engineers, maybe from the legislature too :)

They may have stopped the British, but not Katrina.
