7th February 2006 family matters

Just home from Edinburgh.
At the funeral of my (great) uncle.
Out of a legendary clan of eight brothers and sisters,
there is now only one left.
My lovely uncle Jimmy who is only a year or two older than my dad.
There was a wonderful family gathering though,
and lots of memories and stories were exchanged.
My big sister (above) and John gave us a cup of tea before we headed back up north.
Home now, tired, and off to bed to catch up with some sleep.

2s f/5.0 at 40.0mm full exif

Condoléances.
Nice shot!

My sympathy on the loss of your great uncle. You have made this a nostalgic shot especially with the tones. She looks like a screen star of years ago --not like the plastic copies of now.

Reminds me of the days of crystal sets and old mangles. A charming family portrait - its a shame your great uncle could not have seen this.
Vote.

Yes, as sad as funerals may be, they are also a very special time of the family coming together and appreciating each other.

Sorry to hear that. This is one of those pics I always love immediately because of the wonderful warm feeling within there.

Funerals are a time of such mixed emotions, the sadness of losing a friend or loved one and the happiness of meeting old friends and family. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.
This a great shot of your Sister and John.
She looks a lot younger than you!
