BLACK BEAR STARE

Black Bear
Ursus americanus

I found this bear digging in some garbage near Algonquin Park. In hindsight, I think I may have been just a little too close to this guy (maybe 20 feet). I have cropped the image so you can't see the garbage the bear is sitting in.

Yup...that's a bit too close for comfort, armed only with a camera??!!

That's one big black bear. You can usually get a good idea of the size of a black bear by how large or small the ears look relative to the head. His ears look very small...big bear!
