Billy Goat is the name the hikers of the great trails know him by, and with great respect and admiration. He has climbed all the 4000ft pks of the east, hiked the Continental Divide Trail, the Appalachain Trail, and the Pacific Crest Trail five times. This grand trail spirit has become an inspiration and beacon to many a hiker along the great American trails. When I met him in the Sierra in his world, along the John Muir Trail, I now know I had encountered one of those rare persons in life, living a simpler lifestyle, that can change everything you have ever known, and from then on, my life's path has only become more enlightened!! Billy Goat is a grand trail spirit! and, if asked, he may say, I'm only a simple man..that hikes to live!!
