The Bismarck tower in Hanau Wilhelmsbad
Building of this Bismarck tower began in the year 1900, by the National Liberal Association in Hessen. The location was voted on and the results were the Health Resort, Wilhelmsbad (William Bath) in Hanau.
The construction cost between, 25,000 to 28,000 German Marks, which was collected by private donations. The building materials were taken from the quarries in Hanau, and were completed in 1905.
At the eastern side of the tower is an eagle with the Bismarck coat of arms and under it the inscription "BISMARCK".
On the tower head is an iron fire bowl on a rack. This was filled with rosin (resin product) and tallow. The burning duration lasted approximately 2 hours.
